When it comes to Chris Reeve knives, the smaller pocket carries are exceptionally strong and elegant, perfect for an everyday carry knife. Two popular pocket-sized knives in the collection include the Small Sebenza 21 and the Inkosi. Though both look very similar, are almost the same size. The Sebenza measures at 6.875 inches and the Inkosi at 6.625 inches.

But each has a few differences that change some of their functions. If you are thinking about buying one of the two and want to compare Sebenza vs. Inkosi, here is a rundown of the major differences between the two.

Small Sebenza 21

The Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 21's 2.84-inch blade is made with CPM S35VN stainless steel (59-60 RC) and has a blade thickness of 0.125 inches. The knife's profile is a drop-point blade with a hollow grind. It has a stonewashed finish to reduce glare and hide nicks and scratches.

The handle is made of gray blasted 6Al4V titanium, which is the exact same material for the Inkosi. The Sebenza features the Chris Reeve Integral Lock system for a rugged build and lock-up, with a single thumb lug for quick blade deployment. The handle itself is slim, for a comfortable grip. The small Sebenza comes with either a drop point, tanto or the insingo blade shape. Overall, it weighs just 3 ounces.

Small Inkosi

The Chris Reeve Inkosi blade's length is a bit shorter than the small Sebenza 21, measuring 2.75 inches. But it has 8 percent thicker blade stock than the small Sebenza and a wide, hollow grind, making it closer to a flat grind. This gives it a robust feel and strength.

It's made with the same American-made steel as the small Sebenza: CPM S35VN stainless steel with a 59-60 RC hardness. The Inkosi has a sturdier stop pin and stout pivot mechanism for improved security and performance. Both knives use perforated phosphor bronze bushings. The CRK Inkosi also features a ceramic lock bar interface, which delivers increased lock life, because it reduces the lock wear that leads to movement of the lock position over time.

The handle of the Inkosi has a slightly different ergonomic shape than the 21, and the pocket clip has been mounted so it rests on the handle frame rather than the lock bar, relieving pressure. The Inkosi weighs just 0.1 ounce more than the Sebenza 21.

Conclusion

Overall, the Inkosi takes after the larger Sebenza 25 in build characteristics rather than the small Sebenza 21. Thus, it boasts the improvements made for the new Sebenza 25 model. The Inkosi currently only comes with a drop-point blade shape.
