American Tomahawk Company - Model 1 Hickory Handle - Black

The American Tomahawk Company (ATC) Model 1 is the most modern version of a tool that was originally developed for US troops serving in the Vietnam War. At the core of the ATC Model 1 is the drop-forged 1060 high carbon steel ax head. The tomahawk features a cutting edge of 2 3/8" and is black powder-coated to reduce glare and prevent corrosion. At the other end of the tomahawk is an impact spike to help breach tough obstacles. The hardness of the carbon steel head is heat-treated to 56-57 HRC for a very tough and durable tool. The head is marked "RMJ - USA" indicating where it is made; all American pride.

The handle on this Model 1 is classic Tennesse hickory wood that is flamed and lacquered treated that provides an organic warmth, durability, and impact resistance that only aged hickory wood can. The 13 1/8" length of the rectangle-shaped handle allows you to comfortably handle, chop and throw the tomahawk. At the end of the hickory handle is marked with the American Tomahawk Co. logo and has a lanyard hole that will allow the user to secure it to their wrist.

Proper carry and storage of a tomahawk is extremely important, that is why each Model 1 comes with a high-quality custom molded Kydex sheath. The securely riveted sheath allows the user to carry and transport the ax safely. The Molle compatible scabbard comes with two M.O.C. Low Ride Straps that compatible with on PALS webbing. Each strap is secured with a 'pull-the-dot' snaps that help further secure the sheath system. The entire sheath is made in America and of the highest quality.
