Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 Carbon Fiber - Insingo
Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 Carbon Fiber - Insingo
The Exclusive Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 Carbon Fiber with insingo1.html>Insingo Blade is a precision tool from Chris Reeve Knives of Boise, Idaho that has been commissioned to be sold exclusively by KnifeArt. The small sebenza 31 was designed to be used as a high-end knife for everyday carry.
The insingo blade is made of Stainless CPM MagnaCut Steel with 63-64 Rockwell hardness and a fine stonewashed finish. The blade is just a shade under 3 inches in length, but don't let the size fool you. In this case, rugged things do come in a small package. The Small Sebenza 31 Carbon Fiber has a blade thickness of 0.12 inches. The finished product is lightweight and elegant, but also a tough performer you can always count on.
The handle of the CRK knife is made of 6Al4V Titanium on the lock side and carbon fiber on the front side. Machine lapped on both sides for a flat surface, the handle has been lightly blasted, but it nonetheless retains the weave pattern of the solid carbon fiber. Users will appreciate the framelock mechanism, an innovation that Chris Reeve pioneered himself. The knife is easy to open and close with one hand thanks to the frame lock construction and the titanium thumb lug. A four-finger grip is easily attained and maintained and enables the user to easily control the blade. The Sebenza 31 includes a blasted titanium pocket clip, a black cord lanyard, and a machined and anodized titanium bead. The full size of the knife is 6.875 inches long.
Product Reviews
Great knife love the carbon fiber not my 1st Sebenza just wanted something different. Only problem I had wanted it held at FedEx as I was not going to be home! When I called they could not hold due to restrictions by shipper that was a first for me! Si I called up as and was asked if I live in a bad neighborhood like seriously?. I just wanted it held because nobody was going to be home so basically they had no interest in calling fedex to change it for me. But otherwise like the knife
To be honest, this is the second time I?ve owned this knife. I didn?t fully appreciate It?s simplicity the the first time. Now now, older and maybe wiser, I recognize it for what it is: perfection. It is perfectly built, does everything its supposed to do. Does nothing its not. I couldn?t be happier to have it back in my pocket.
Really pleased with this knife so far. It?s a lot of blade for the size. Fit and finish are as good or better than any of my customs. Weighing in at 2.1 ounces it disappears in the pocket. Centering is perfect, lockup is solid, blade grinds are perfectly symmetrical, and main bevel stays very tight and consistent from tip to heal. Hollow grind blades are my preference and this one doesn?t disappoint. This is such a nice knife.
I love my new Chris Reeve carbon fiber small Sebenza21. Thank you for the speedy shipping and excellent service. The carbon fiber makes it lighter and a perfect gentleman's EDC. It did arrive needing just a little sharpening but a few swipes on the ceramic sticks of my Spyderco sharpener had it shaving sharp in less than 20 minutes. Thank you, KnifeArt!!!
Chris Reeve Carbon Fiber Small Sebenza with Insingo Blade
I was looking for a high quality ultra-light knife for long distance hiking. My criteria: 3? (? 0.25?) locking blade, one hand deployment, and =2.3 oz. Though I have many of the lightest offers from other production knife companies including Al Mar, Benchmade, Boker, CRKT, Falkniven, Gerber, Hinderer, Loin Steel, Opinel, SOG, Strider, Spyderco, and Zero Tolerance, the Carbon Fiber Small Sebenza with Insingo Blade is by far the highest quality, cleanest design, smoothest deploying knife that meets my criteria. The only down side is it might be too nice!
Larry and Rodney at KnifeArt are great to work with, they provide excellent service and prompt shipping.

When I first became aware of CRK and saw the price, I thought I would never own one. Well my opinion has change over the years and now I do. I like that Knife Art offered it with carbon fiber scales. I like the profile of the Insigno blade and prefer 3 inch knifes so I bought the small Sebenza. It is just the right size. I carry my knifes in deep carry and therefore remove the clips. I bought the clip insert to cover the unsightly hole left by the missing clip. I was dismayed when the color was lighter than the knife. I had composed a response to CRK with my displeasure. The next day I noticed the insert had begun to darken, so all is right with the world. I am happy with my first CRK and don't regret buying it at all. It is a real pleasure to own such a quality knife. You only live once so don't deny yourself. I am a weak man so I see a few more CRK's in my future.
Another great experience shopping with KnifeArt! Fast shipping and great selection of products. I bought the small sebenza 21 in carbon fiber with the insingo blade and it is beautiful. Thanks KnifeArt!
This is the best Everyday Carry Knife out there in the market hands down, The size, the weight, the looks, the easy open and lock, Amazing, Thank you Knifeart super fast delivery.
The hype surrounding Chris Reeve Knives is very much real. By far the nicest factory/production folder i have ever owned by far. Rivals and exceeds custom knives in fit and finish. The CF scale is milled so beautifully and is rigid and sturdy, with no flex at all. Lockup is super solid and produces a satisfyingly audible "clack" upon engaging. Grind is perfect and arrived to me very sharp. Truly a work of art and wort every dollar. I cant say enough about this knife, it will be a go to EDC blade for me for life.
What can I say other than this knife is flawless! I was looking for the perfect EDC blade and this is it. I own a small Sebenza 21 with a drop point blade, but don't find myself carrying it as often as my Benchmade 940's. I recently purchased a Benchmade 319 Proper Slip Joint with a modified sheepsfoot blade and that somehow got me thinking of the Sebenza 21 with an Insingo Blade. Add Carbon Fiber and you have a perfectly functional knife that is very light in the pocket. I really couldn't think of a better recipe for the ultimate EDC knife. It can easily be carried with the pocket clip or in a leather pouch when I'm at work. I'm thankful to KnifeArt for making this exclusive offering possible. As anticipated, the service I received was exceptional.
This knife exceeds my expectations.
After watching tons of YouTube reviews and forum posts about CRKs, I finally decided to take plunge. The Knifeart exclusive CRK with carbon fiber scale that I received (quite quickly) is impeccable. Light in the hand - and the pocket - the Insingo blade shape is non-threatening while maintaining optimum functionality.
While this knife will not be my true EDC (I'm in the military and won't be taking this one on deployment) I will definitely look to Knifeart to fill that niche as well.... perhaps another CRK, this one with both scales made of titanium... hmmm...
I love it, i have a large one and this is my second. I have large hands, and this is nearly too small, but it's not. Had to adjust my grip to one-hand open it, and it's not nearly as easy as the large one, but that's because of the big hands thing. It's a lovely knife, the lightness is great. What an EDC!

The fit and finishing is superb and there is no flex in the solid CF handle materials. I know many people say their CRK pieces don't come particularly sharp out of box but mine came with an excellent edge. The insingo blade shape is extremely useful in many situations.
Amazing folding knife. Recommend anyone who wants a reliably tool.
Great fit and finish of the carbon fiber scale, really premium overall product. I have a spyderco sage 1 and the differences are substantial mainly in how compact when folded the sebenza is, and how larger the cutting edge of the Insingo blade is, then the weight... Just dissapears in your pocket. Great EDC
the quality at which this knife is made is unprecedented the carbon fiber handle feels and looks great. The insingo blade has nice edged front for piercing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants a quality and beautiful knife.

This was a wonderful experience, even though I ended up returning the knife. I was worried about spending that kind of money, but this knife is beautiful and definitely worth it. The carbon fiber is the best part of it! I was concerned with the size, though, and had difficulty with the frame lock. When I sent an email inquiring about returning it, I got a phone call immediately, and he was great about the return! It makes me want to buy any knife I need in the future from these guys!! Thanks!

Since no knife collector should be without a Sebenza in its showcase (or his pocket) I decided to purchase a Sebenza 21 with insingo blade and carbon fiber handle. I must say that the speed of delivery from the US to France was a real surprise: 3 days for a cost of 45 dollars. The bad surprise came from the ? 129 I paid for custom and VAT. Anyway the knife arrived in good condition and I am satisfied. I must say that the knife is not at all representative of its price. It's very plain with a very common look and design. It is very difficult to close because of the locking mechanism that is too tight ( I broke twice my thumb nail). Other than that I guess it is a good choice if you want to add a Sebenza to your collection

i received my knife art exclusive ck small sebenza 21 with carbon fiber just 1 business day after ordering and both ck knives and knifeart.com have surpassed my expectations. delivery was speedy, and this knife, upon inspection, has already become the best blade in my collection. all the positive reviews you've read about this knife are accurate ... and then some.. i won't go into the details because they've already been covered by countless others. i will say, however, that knife art has just become my favorite online knife retailer. delivery came 3 days before scheduled. if you're considering a ck sebenza 21, i highly recommend following through on the purchase. and if you're considering the purchase of another knife from knife art, i can say, from personal experience, that you won't be disappointed. cheers.
Was told I'd end up with it, so I saved myself some transactions leading up to the eventual Reeve Sebenza. To do so, sold a near new other brand to facilitate Seb purchase. The carbon fiber is classy, elegant, feels good to hold, supersharp, though I haven't really challenged it yet. Appreciate the friendly guidance from Mr Connelly who steered me to the insingo option.
This is an excellent EDC - compact size, ideal blade shape and length, light weight. I had intended to buy an original small Sebenza, but the carbon fiber model from KnifeArt pushed me over the edge. Sure, it's lighter than the original, but the carbon fiber scale is also beautiful. It enhances an already great design. The Insingo blade shape is an excellent choice for EDC. It has enough curve to serve multiple uses, and the dropped point makes for a strong, useful point.
As received, it seemed very stiff, but has loosened up a bit in the last several days. I did change my "flip grip" just a bit so as not to squeeze the lock bar, resulting in more friction to the blade pivot. Once I made that change, the blade opens as smoothly as a jewel.
It's a super knife.
By far the nicest Sebenza I've owned, and I've had several over the years. The Carbon Fiber makes it light in the pocket and hand without giving it a flimsy feel. The Insingo blade is great for everday cutting tasks. Of course I have to mention the excellent service by Knifeart and the swiftness in their processing and shipping my order. Two days from the time I hit confirm order until it was in my hand.

This is a great knife - the carbon makes it lighter than expected and quality is very good. Delivery was very quick.
Wonderful to deal with .
I think this is my second time ordering from Knfeart.
I bought this knife as a gift for my husband and of course Chris Reeve knives speak for themselves. I originally purchased a different Chris Reeve knife which did not have the insingo blade like he wanted. Knifeart responded quickly to my email about returning the wrong knife (my mistake not theirs) and processed the return immediately. The correct knife was shipped immediately. I cannot say enough about the excellent customer service Knifeart provided. I certainly would do business with them again.
What can I say , this is a delicacy , the suvidad is amazing, its light weight makes it a pleasure to carry with you always and at all times, this exclusive line of carbon fiber have to feel it in your hands to fully appreciate the tremendous quality and extreme occupation of its fine details.
The CF scale is great. I really like the feel and looks of it. My only minor gripe was with the blade and opening. I had to use a 1500 grit diamond hone followed by stropping to get the blade to easily cut thin paper and strop the bushings to make it open without to much effort. Now it's perfect. Thank you.
Better than I could have hoped (and I had high hopes!) Knifeart was a pleasure to work with, and this knife is a pleasure to use. Great EDC, and it doubles as a slick dress knife.
Great service as always, a pleasure to deal with?..

Kudos to CRK and Mr. Connely for designing, engineering & crafting this fantastic piece of functional art. Light, sharp, tough, and quite elegant in its own way; needless to say I am very happy with my purchase. New CRK packaging is a nice bonus. And thank you to KnifeArt for their courteous & conscientious service - much appreciated gents.
Fast service and delivery. I received an immediate phone call and email to verify my order: the Connelleys noticed a difference between shipping and billing address and wanted to rule out fraud. This was resolved quickly and I got my order right away, and I appreciate the double-check to protect both customer and seller.
The size and weight make this a perfect little EDC knife. The Carbon Fibre makes this knife extremely light weight, plus it looks really cool!
The Insingo blade shape is surprisingly well suited to EDC cutting tasks. Would highly recommend this unique model to anyone looking for a smaller EDC knife!
Great service from Knife Art and Fed-Ex. Shipped to Canada by the end of the second day.

The knife is perfect, as far as I can tell. Immaculately finished and perfectly centered, and due to the carbon fiber scale on the show side, lighter than even a regular Sebenza by a noticeable amount. I will probably have this knife until I die or have a son to give it to, and it is only available to purchase here. The only disappointment I had was that it did not come with a calf skin leather sheath, which I thought was included with Sebenzas from the unboxing videos I have seen, but this is not due to anything KnifeArt implied. They did a wonderful job. I can always buy a sheath later. They're cheaper from KnifeArt than they are from Chris Reeve Knives, anyway.

I have some much cheaper knives with nicer looking carbon fiber but the knife is still fantastic. This is my first sebenza and I am impressed with the tolerances and beautiful simplicity of the knife. Knife Art was a breeze to deal with and I will be coming back for more knives.

Ordered this piece of art to Russia on 30th of May, today i got it with delivery to my work office (had to declare on customs by myself, but it took me only 2 hours). It's very beatiful, light and perfect for everyday use size. I'm very happy with it! Thanks to KA LLC!

My first Reeve knife is smaller than I thought, lighter than I thought, and totally awesome. However, the one I received has a small flaw in the carbon fiber scale (from the manufacturing of the carbon fiber, not the manufacturing of the knife). I kept it because it adds character, but at this price range, I would think someone could have checked the knife over carefully prior to leaving Reeve's facilities. Knife Art shipped promptly, but I honestly would have bought the knife from another dealer that offers free shipping if any other dealer carried this model. None do. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and will own many more Reeve knives. I will also purchase from Knife Art again. I did not report my knife's "flaw", so I cannot comment on Knife Art's customer service. That is all.

I'm a big guy and carry mostly larger knives. This is a great knife in a small, light weight package. It will become my "dress knife".

Outstanding quality EDC for a perfectly balanced knife.

Ultimate in EDC efficiency. CRK perfection, so light you have to keep checking to see if it's there. Need a large now.

When I decided to purchase my first CRK I did much research on the internet.
I tried to educate myself about Mr Reeves' fine offerings, but also a purveyor to consummate the purchase.
Whenever I would find info pertaining to CRK products ,KnifeArt would be mentioned a great number of times. When I went to the KnifeArt web site the first I was duly impressed-very professional and well put together. I immediately concluded that these people had it together.
I purchased a small Sebenza with a carbon fiber scale (exclusive to Knife Art). I thought about just entering the purchase on the net (it was the weekend), but elected the personal interaction via phone order.
My order met with quick ,knowledgeable service without being "pushy".
My order received immediate attention and thanks to that received in two days. Well packed and "factory fresh" product, as I had expected.
Thanks to the "gang" at KnifeArt for a great Chris Reeve knife and shopping experience.

This is my new EDC for my office work, Compact, amazingly light with the carbon fiber/titanium, and the insingo blade design makes ir perfect for most any use. The only EDC better than this is the large version, which is what I carry to the range or hiking. Well done!
