Made from high carbon 80CRV2 tool steel, it measures up on the tough side of the scale with a Rockwell hardness of around 57-59 at the head (cutting edge). This is the same kind of steel used in industrial ball bearings and makes an exceptional knife stock that stays sharp and can take plenty of punishment. At 12.5" from butt to top of the 5.75" long-bearded axe head, it gives plenty of leverage for powerful cuts. The 5" cutting edge is sharpened down to a razor's edge from .270" stock. A black cerakote finish provides an extra level of hardness and corrosion protection for the 80CRV2 steel. The G10 3D sculpted composite handle provides a sure grip in any climate or condition, wet or dry. A Kydex scabbard with two MOC straps give you the option to carry with your tactical gear, and is ready whenever you need it.
