Daniel Winkler has had a reputation for quality knife making for decades. One of the things he does best is hand axes. His achievements in creating functional, durable, and attractive tomahawks and axes were first recognized with his contributions to the 1992 motion picture, The Last of the Mohicans. As far as tactical tomahawks go, the WK Combat Axe Hammer is a force to be reckoned with. Similar to the standard Combat Axe this variety features a hammer instead of a spike on the back of the head, making it ideal for tactical use in Law Enforcement and military use--particularly in breaching maneuvers. The Winkler Axe head is made from impact-resistant 80CrV2 stainless steel with a Rockwell hardness of 57-60, allowing it to be tough, but also retain a sharp edge for a long time. At nearly 6" long, the black oxide Caswell finished head is made from 3/8" stock and the skeletonized tang extends through the full length of the handle for extra strength.
The handle is made from premium maple for a sure grip in any weather. An integrated glass breaker extends past the end of the handle as an additional extraction/rescue feature. From the butt of the handle to the top of the axe head, this tactical tomahawk is 13.75" long. Each Winkler Combat Axe Hammer comes with a lined Kydex sheath, built for fast draw and Molle compatible nylon belt straps for secure carry and easy deployment.

Thank you , June 11, 2022Winkler Hammer Combat Axe - Maple HandleFirstly I would like to thank the guys at knife art. They are very helpful and friendly. I’ve actually now used the winkler axe on a survival course here in the UK for a week. It’s a amazing bit of kit.
Mostly used for splitting down branches for the fire. I especially like the exposed tang which you can use in a emergency as a glass breaker. Not to mention it’s ability as a fine tool for self protection when some one’s attitude needs readjusting.

Even though it was sharp out of the box I spent 20 minutes putting the hair shaving razor edge I like, and it still had the edge after repeated chopping on several trees and limbs I was removing.

I'm an axe and knife Junkie. A brother from another mother who uses one of these for his job turned me on to Daniel. I now own 3 winklers. Beg, borrow, and do whatever you have to in order to get these. I have over 50 axes/hatchets. This thing is purpose built and OUTSTANDING. The pictures don't do it justice. Holding it in your hands is where the magic happens.
