Winkler Blue Ridge Hunter - Sculpted Multicam G10 Handle
Winkler Blue Ridge Hunter - Sculpted Multicam G10 Handle
When it comes to tactical knives, it's hard to find a more committed designer than Master Smith, Daniel Winkler. A seasoned veteran of knifemaking, Winkler's reputation for soundly designed knives has even earned him the privilege of designing knives for the US Navy SEALs and other special operations groups. With the Blue Ridge Hunter, a knife designed specifically for hunters and military personnel, it is the smaller version of the popular 'Belt Knife' model. The Blue Ridge has a full, skeletonized tang.
This Blue Ridge Hunter Knife's 4" 80CRV2 Carbon Steel blade sports a black Caswell finish that both protects the knife from the elements and reduces glare. The knife's handle is constructed from a tough G10, an industrial-grade composite material that is sure to stand the test of time. The 3d sculpting on the handle provides a positive grip in a wide variety of environments. The filed thumb rest on the spine of the blade adds a dimension of safety and ease of use, allowing your grip on the knife to be secure and precise.
Measuring in at a total of 8" and 5.9 oz., the Winkler Blue Ride Hunter is a powerful piece of craftsmanship. The Winker II knife comes with a custom-made leather, Kydex and felt-lined sheath for safe and stylish carrying. The sheath is layered, from outside in - leather, molded Kydex, felt. Additionally, the Blue Ridge Hunting Knife is equipped with a lanyard hole at the base of the handle as a safe and easy carry option when used in conjunction with the sheath.

This is my first Winkler knife and I couldn’t be happier with the build quality. I was really intrigued by the sheath since it gives you multiple carry options and it is built like a tank. It gives you the option to carry it vertically or horizontal but I like to carry my fixed blades at a 45 degree on my back. I couldn’t find anything online about being able to do this with the Winkler sheath but I am happy to report that it is possible. I removed the clip and clip plate from the sheath and remounted the clip using one of the many pre-drilled holes on the clip plate. I even filed down part of the clip plate to give it a little more cant. They give you different sized spacers and screws so you shouldn’t have a problem getting this thing to fit your carry needs. I carry it inside my pants/shorts with the clip attached to my belt making it very concealable for a knife that is 9 inches in length when in the sheath. I ended up filing off the bent piece of metal on the clip that gives extra security when attached to your belt. I found this piece of metal made it difficult taking the sheath off my belt. Another thing to note is that you can adjust the draw tension of the blade by either loosening or tightening the screws that attach to the clip plate. I used some blue Loctite on the mounting screws to make sure they don’t come loose. KnifeArt has super-fast shipping as well, will definitely purchase from here again!
